Does NU have any sort of info at career services about callback/offer ratios? I know CLS does, but it's kept in a hard copy at the career services office.

Anyone hear from Schiff?

I'm a little disappointed not to hear anything from Jones Day. I felt the interview went pretty well and I know they have taken students in my "grade range" in the past. Does anyone know or have an educated guess as to whether they are done with CBs for those they have already interviewed or if they are just giving CBs to the obvious candidates first and then taking some time to figure out the rest?

I am sorry you didn't get it. It seems like Chicago is still VERY tough. It's not too late to start mailing a back-up market.

Jones Day got back to me really quickly (with a rejection via email) at a different career fair. No reason to think they are waiting around, so no news might be good news, or at least not bad.

Yeah, I'm going to try and hit up some other Midwest markets, it sucks though because basically ALL my ties are to Chicago/IL.

You need to loose a torrent of targeted cover letters where you show knowledge of not just the firm, but the secondary market itself. "Big" firms in smaller cities still like the idea of having a T14 grad in their ranks, and you can use that. You have got to hustle, and I just can't say this loudly enough. Good luck to you, whatever you do.

It's also not too late to try to get on the schedule of unselective NYC. several of those firms will be here next week. email recruiting today, if getting biglaw is the most important thing to you.

I'm assuming this is for Jones' office in Chicago?

I can't imagine it would be for the West Coast offices - they interviewed all day Friday and then had to fly home, where I doubt the recruiters and decision makers were eagerly awaiting them.

Plus, I take statements like "they are done with all the callbacks" with a serious grain of salt. None of really know anything that concrete about what is going on. We know our own callback status and that of our friends and perhaps fellow posters here. So a blanket "they're done" doesn't really ring true.

Don't start freakin' out just yet... the dbag who put that callbacks are done at NU is just that--a giant dbag who does not even go to NU ... callbacks are not done, I'm positive. Everyone just relax and finish up strong with the week-and-a-half you have left of OCI...without worrying too much about callbacks from those interviews you already finished. STAY POSITIVE and good luck!

Any word yet from the Friday firms? Jones in NY or Linklaters, Freshfields, or the like?

I'd imagine such data is counterproductive.

More evidence of just how ridiculously tough things have gotten ITE:

Fall 2007 OCI, median callbacks by GPA

2.50 - 2.99: 2
3.00 - 3.32: 6
3.33 - 3.49: 9
3.50 - 3.69: 12
3.70 - 3.89: 12.5
3.90 - 4.33: 13

Samesies.

EDIT: After a smart person made a very good point about how useless this post was, I'll say that this is a different person than the first one and I won't do this douchey anony-gloat again. My bad, guys.
