2L SLIP lead to 3L Big Law?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jul 25, 2011 3:13 pm

Wondering if anyone knew whether taking a SLIP with DoJ your 2L year would allow one to transition into BigLaw via 3L OCI or mass-mailing. Or does the same "No SA as a 2L = SoL for BigLaw" mentality hold?

General and vague question I know. Thinking of the antitrust division specifically but wondering about others as well.

I would think that if you are competitive enough to get a SLIP job, then you will likely land at least 1 firm offer. I know of at least one person that split last year b/t a law firm and SLIP anti-trust. My understanding is that most firms allow you to split with government agencies (even if they are generally opposed to splitting summers)--however someone may correct that.
