OCI and resume paper

All firms at my school say bring resume, and some say transcript and writing sample, or maybe references. Obviously, Im going to print a zillion copies of all in case someone asks me for it.

What gets printed on my expensive, off-white resume paper? Just resume, or all of it?

Also, with writing sample, is double-sided acceptable? staple in top-left corner? am I overthinking this?

Yes overthinking. No resume paper for OCI.

What about a job fair? Same deal, all plain white paper?

Depends. I might be more inclined to print on nice paper for a job fair where people will be seeing your resume for the first time.

I'd consider using decent paper like this: http://www.staples.com/Southworth-Excep ... t_SS117390 but IMO you don't want to use crazy heavy resume paper.

Oh they'll have seen an older version of it beforehand, the interviews were preselected. Could have been more clear.

This is what I assumed, and why I said no resume paper.

I recommend slightly heavier paper. It's subtley noticeable without screaming "I printed my resumes on parchment using ink from baby squid." A nice 24 lb white will still be sold in sheets of 500 but have a more substantial feel to it than regular copy paper.

Where's the "none of the above" option? Fuck wasting money on resume paper. That shit is expensive. It's not like a firm is going to be insulted that you didn't waste your money on resume paper where they won't hire you.

We stock a lot of resume paper in my judge's office...

Dear Taxpayers,

Thank you for subsidizing my OCI monetary expenses.

Sincerely,

Law Student

Dear person who steals from a judge in order to get a job as a lawyer, then brags about it: you're stupid.

My school allows us to print on really nice resume paper if we drop a donation into a jar. Donated a meager sum for my 180 mass mail applications using about 200 sheets of paper and 180 envelopes.

IMO, use nice paper without watermarks for everything, otherwise it would look odd to get a resume that is thicker and heavier than a reference list and transcript. Writing sample on the other hand is debatable to me due to the bulk that will make the weight and quality difference less noticeable but I will be printing mine on the same paper. I don't think you should use pure cotton paper for OCI that has the gaudy watermarks on it, save that for the judges you apply to.
