Wall St. vs. Bay St.

Posted this in lawstudents.ca but looking to see if anyone else here knows anything:
So i have recently been reading a lot of posts on the "Top Law Schools" forums and seeing as how I am mainly interested in Bay St (vs. Wall St.) I had a few questions about the differences:
1) In the US, associates at Big Law firms usually hang around for about 4 years and then are attacked by head hunters and leave to PI/Government/In house since the chance of making partner at one of these firms are very slim. My quesiton is, is Bay St. like this as well? Are most people only at Big Law in toronto for about 4 years?
2) How is the in house market in Toronto? Are a lot of companies hiring in house?
3) How difficult is it to make it to partner in Toronto?
Sorry, I am a bit of a newbie!
