1. Great (you might even grade on to law review depending on how the numbers shake out)
2. None except WLRK and maybe Cravath. Unless you're talking about litigation then it may be tougher to do something like C&B DC, OMM DC, Susman, Boies, etc.
3. This is tough to do. I think LR is top 10% right? So I think at the highest that's 180, but it's usually lower. Factor in that 179 = 20% on the transcript factors in all 3 years (w/ seminar boost) so that % is also higher. Pulling numbers out of the air...15-10%

From what I've heard, top 10% is usually somewhere between 179.5 and 180, but I think that means you might be just below the cut off? Still, that is an amazing achievement. As the previous poster said, you are likely somewhere between top 15 and 10%. Congrats!

You wouldn't be wasting your bid on any firm. Sure, WLRK, Susman, Williams & Connolly probably will not hire you, but you wouldn't be wasting your bid by seeking to interview with any of them.

Roughly top 15%, but it does vary from year to year. Around 180 is normally top 10% and around 180.5 is normally top 5%.

Wachtell and Williams & Connolly are very likely out, but could be worth a low bid.

Looking at the callback list they sent out today, if every top student participated in OCI then a 179.5 would have been ranked about 23rd in the class.

Not sure how you are calculating this. That data is for two years and several people, even those with high GPAs, may have only had call-backs at places where somebody with a higher GPA also had a call-back.

Yeah, just realized it was 2 years data. If it were one year you could just count the discrete GPAs. With so many data points it didn't seem that likely that someone near the top of the class would ONLY have callbacks at a firm where someone else with a higher GPA also had a callback.

If you want Susman, go for it. They gave callbacks to people below 179.5 two years ago, at least. W&C will probably be skeptical unless you make law review, but no harm, no foul. In Chicago, aim high.
