I know the legal market in Charlotte is hurting, so these jobs are hard to obtain.

But given the choice between 145k in Charlotte and 160k in NYC, what are the pros/cons of the situation?

Conventional TLS wisdom says to always go for the V-whatever NYC firm, but 145k in Charlotte goes a lot further than 160k in NYC

Thanks in advance :D

Do you want to live in NYC or do you want to live in Charlotte? If you just want the most take-home out of your paycheck, you should pick Charlotte.

A big chunk of the $130K+ work in Charlotte is transactional and finance/banking related. If that's your thing and you'd be happy there, go for it. If you want some more diversity in your practice area options beyond banking and healthcare work, I'd look up North.
