Where can I find info for expected SA class size for 2012?
Also, in NALP directory, under "compensation and and employment data", there are numbers for "began work in" xx year, followed by numbers in parenthesis. Are these offer numbers? and what are the numbers in parenthesis?
Thanks!!

You can't find that information. Best bet is to ask the the firm you're interested in or extrapolate from the trends that NALP shows. Both methods yield dubious results at best, though.
I don't know the answer to the second question, though I am very curious.

The number of former Summer Associates/Interns that were hired. So if it's 38 (37) -- that probably means there was a 3L hire

Or a post-clerkship hire, potentially more likely.
Wrong. Laterals and post clerkship hires are separate categories.

Good call, just 3L hiring.
