Top 1% T2 bid list

At a T2 in Chicago in the top 1%. Some impressive softs tied to the area.

So, my school has released hardly any data on last year's OCI results so I don't really have much to go off of here. The (sorry) list currently includes:

Bryan Cave LLP
Burke Warren MacKay & Serritella
Chapman & Cutler
Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office
Greenberg Traurig
Jenner & Block LLP
Katten Muchin Rosenman
McDermott Will & Emery
Reed Smith LLP
schiff hardin llp
U.S. Army JAG Corp
Winston & Strawn LLP

Resume drop for:
Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, Seattle, WA
Drinker Biddle, Chicago, IL
Frost Brown Todd (multiple cities)
Jones Day (multiple cities)
K & L Gates, Chicago IL
Lewis & Kappes, Indianapolis, IN
Marshall Gerstein, Chicago, IL
McGuire Woods, Chicago, IL

My school uses a lottery system with most firms screening out those who do not fall within the top 10-15%. Any ideas on how I should rank these (or if it really matters)? Also, any recommendations on when I should start mailing other firms that won't be interviewing at OCI and what firms those should be? Thanks!

Does ranking them high increase the chances you get the lottery spot? Do you have to rank the resume drops?

I'd select on how big their SA class sizes are.

Mass mail as many firms as you can beginning on 7/1 (or as shortly soon after as you can). Top 1% will get you some interviews, but you need to try to get in before the rush. Remember that some firms may make you pay to travel to them, since they're not meeting you first at your school, so bear that in mind when applying to firms outside of Chicago.

Yes. Besides excluding those that fall outside the firm's hiring criteria, its a normal lottery with ranking and all of that.
