I haven't heard from K+E Chi either...which is weird b/c they said they would get back with me in a week. I'm guessing this can only mean that I won't hear from them at all.

Re: Loyola PLIP thread for 2011
im curious: for OCI, do you guys bother bidding on firm that don't really do IP/patents? my resume screams patent law because of undergrad, engineering and patent law work experience. I suppose I could create another resume that is less focused, but im not sure how that's possible without removing my one legal job (patent). additionally, because my grades are average, it is my background and work experience that give me a competitive advantage in patent law, whereas in other fields, my resume is utterly unremarkable, or even bad since, i'd have no real work experience. so... do you good patent law folks ever pretend to care for other fields?

a lot of patent firms also do corporate work (that happens to focus around IP). But it is corporate work that is based around the IP. M&A, IPO, etc. I know this is at least common in the SilVal and Bay Area firms i've spoken to.Anonymous User wrote:im curious: for OCI, do you guys bother bidding on firm that don't really do IP/patents? my resume screams patent law because of undergrad, engineering and patent law work experience. At the firm that I'll be joining next summer, I already have someone in corporate trying to steal my from the IP Lit group.

Re: Loyola PLIP thread for 2011
Thanks. The problem is that most of these firms are V rated, and realistically, I try to avoid those. Although I do have a couple of biglaw CBs, there are many firms out there that pay market or close to it, and are not V100. Those are the ones I want to target for mass mailing.englawyer wrote:http://www.chambersandpartners.com/USA/Editorial/43201Anonymous User wrote:?Anonymous User wrote:Ms. Patterson has the answerAnonymous User wrote:can anyone pls point to a list of IP firms in NYC, ranked per size or # of patent field, or similar? you'd think such a thing would be readily available (finding one for boston only took a cursory google search), but i can't seem to find one. thx.

Re: Loyola PLIP thread for 2011
Ok, I have a question.
I live in the midwest.
I have a CB with one bay area firm, and got a "soft rejection" from a second. The rejection letter stated that they remain interested, but cannot invite me to the first round. They will bring me in for 2nd round CBs should they host a second round.
Should I send an email to firm #2 saying that i'll be in the area, i'm still interested, and asking if they'd be interested in giving me a CB? Of course, then I'd have to email firm 1 and get them to split the costs.
Is that too pushy? Should I just send an email and just say I'm interested, but don't try to push them into giving me a CB on the same trip?
