Which is the best, worst, and how far is the division between them? Talking primarily about how it will affect 2L hiring, and "prestige" I guess.
1. A research position with a professor, researching intellectual property
2. Externship at the USPTO
3. Externship at a Court of Appeals
Thank you for any advice. A few weeks ago I received an offer for a research position, and a USPTO offer is very likely. I mainly want to find out if I should try applying to more federal Court of Appeals (I think I might have a strong chance at one of them in particular, due to connections).
