Big law regional or Big law national?

What would you do in this situation? You go to school far away from home, and pretty much hate it there.
You (current 1L)get an offer for a SA at one of the largest firms back home. (But it is a regional firm 150+) (Great pay)
Do you take this one? In hopes of finally being back where you want to be, and hoping for a job after graduation?
OR
You also get an offer for a SA at one of the larger firms nationally/internationally... (750+) But you would have to work in the office by your school, in an area that you don't really like.
Pay is also significantly higher... (VERY great pay)
Would you take the job back home? Or suck it up and work at a monster firm somewhere that you don't really like living?
Thanks

Would you have to rent a place back home?
I'd take the smaller firm back home regardless, but the cost of maintaining two apartments should be something to consider.

I really want to take the job back home... Because I really miss home etc.
But I worry about all the opportunities I would be giving up by turning down such a powerhouse firm... =(

Where would you rather work after graduation? Don't think of this as a summer-only thing.

Well I would definitely want to work in the market back home... but am also considering working in the market out here at school because the firms out here are huge and have fat pay checks... lol pathetic I know. But ever since I was a kid, I always dreamed of making it big and have always wanted to make stupidly large amounts of money...

Go where you'll be most happy.

After you adjust for cost of living, all big firms come out to about the same pay no matter what city you are in. . . except Texas - they make bank.

Go big law national - that way you will know for sure if it is for you or not - and you won't spend your life wondering.

I vote mid-law home. Sometimes, it's not all about the money. If you were able to get big law national with your credentials, you shouldn't have trouble changing your mind after your first summer (assuming you're a 1L).
Go home, refresh yourself, and be happy.

I second this.
I know it is cliche, but it is not all about the money. And I imagine that this smaller firm is still going to pay pretty good money, and that money may take you farther back home than it would in the other firm (assuming the smaller firm is in a secondary market). It sounds like you'd be happier back home after graduation, so that's what I'd do this summer.
