Cellular Biology - IP??

Is an undergraduate major in cell biology suitable for a career in IP? Is this too "soft" of a science for most IP firms who are seeking more of engineering majors like EE and Chem?

I would like to go into IP but am worried that this would place me at a disadvantage.

Thanks

You would have no shot. Pretty much the only life sciences patent law hires have PhDs.

People do get into IP groups at firms that aren't mega-patent focused without having a hard science degree, but a bio background isn't going to get you taken seriously at patent firms or patent practice groups attending the Loyola patent fair.
