Is this an interview?

Anon because I don't want to out myself.
Stats: 1L, Top 10% at DNCG.
Sent my resume to a family friend partner in a V100 firm. He's in a different office than the one I want. One of their recruiters calls me and says while they're not sure if the office that I want (one of Chicago or DC) is hiring, they want to bring me in to meet some attorneys. Ostensible purpose is so that I can learn more about their firm and see if any of their attorneys can think of other places I can look at (?!?).
My CSO is closed for a few days, so I thought that I'd ask here.
Obv wear a suit, but what to expect? Is this an interview? CB w/o screener? Why would the recruiter mention their attorneys being able to suggest other places that I can apply to? This is kinda weird, right?
Thanks for any thoughts/advice.

Treat it like an interview. They wouldn't be asking you to come if there wasn't some kind of an interest. Play off that.

Sounds to me like a networking opportunity that was set up for you because a partner in the firm asked the recruiting people to do it. Even if they don't have jobs this year, it definitely can help for OCI.

It doesn't sound like there's a job opportunity here but that should actually make things easier for you. There's no pressure to impress. If you get along well with people, they'll remember you for 2L OCI.

OP here.
I agree with you guys. Probably want to get me for OCI.
Anyone think there's a possibility of a job here?
One thing to consider is that while it's a V100 firm, my DCNG doesn't send a lot of people there, and those who go have significantly lower grades than me. Change any outcomes?
Thanks all.

It's an interview with three possible outcomes:
1) you (combined with your grades) impress them, and they offer you a 1L gig, even though they don't routinely hire 1Ls.
2) you don't blow them away, but you're not a tool. Since you've got good grades, they try and impress you so you'll come back at OCI.
3) you blow it, and they know they don't have to interview next summer, despite your grades.

Had this same thing, except sans grades and at a smaller firm. It was a "be sure to apply with us 2L" situation. Went exactly like an interview. Talked about my resume, then they solicited Qs.
