Just out of curiosity, how many firms (regardless of size) have interviewed 1Ls at at your school this spring? I'm interested to see the breadth of the 1L OCI program nationwide. It seems like this varies quite a bit by school/rank/region.

Four employers coming to OCI. Maybe another dozen or so at the public interest job fair thing.

Let's not abuse the anonymous feature...remember this thread is just info about your school's OCI, it's nothing personal/confidential.

Boalt had 10-15 employers but a lot were gov't...only 3 firms.

Fair enough.

I was the first responder. Ohio State has three firms and one corporate legal department coming, with maybe another half dozen firms doing resume collects. We also had around 14 government/PI employers come to our PI fair.

Emory has 8 (12 if you count individual offices) firms, 2 fed agencies, and a mix of 8 other things. I hope OCI works out because I haven't heard a peep back from judiciary or fed so far.

1L OCI is usually a joke, no? More of a PR stunt for the employers who come than anything else. No one gets a job from it.

I am not even sure about Duke's 1L OCI. I have never paid any attention to it. It is not the way to get a 1L job.

Good to know.

As an aside, does anyone know how long after the bid deadline we find out if we got any interviews? I know the earliest firm is interviewing Feb. 22, so it will be sometime between now and then. Just curious what others' experiences were.

I would think it WOULD be good to know, actually. I hope no poor 1L is misled into thinking 1L OCI will get them a job and relies on it. That would be tragic. Write your letters people.

My eye roll was from despair, not sarcasm. Sorry.

Ah. That little smirk the emoticon does at the end makes him look sarcastic to me.

Good talk.
