What is easiest way to find out where a federal judge went to school...
would like to hit up alumni of both my law and undergrad for employment.

If you know a federal judge, you can ask em for their directory. My grandfather has one that has every judge's bio, including their hobbies. Kinda funny.

If you can't manage to conduct a simple Google search, the Federal Judicial Center has a searchable
Biographical Directory of Federal Judges.

the thing is I want to search by college and law school rather than just plug and chugging 1000s of judges

You might be out of luck for undergrad institutions, but most law schools have "notable alumni" page on their website. I have seen a couple of pages for schools that have a list specifically for state and federal judges who graduated from the ls.

Try the state bar website, they might have a useful search feature.
