Meeting inside fed judge's chamber tomorrow

What should I wear?

Full suit vs blazer, button down/khakis vs suit/button down w/no tie.

Also, this is more of an informal meeting/ not a full job interview but my family knows him and I would love to work for the dude (obvs I wont call him dude in person). How should I approach this?

Thanks!

I would vote suit, no tie if you don't know him all that well. Otherwise, blazer.

full suit no question. You should not consider anything else. This question keeps coming up. Why are people afraid to wear suits?

Tend to agree with this.

I don't think you can go wrong with this approach. Could being over dressed to meet a judge possibly be as bad as being underdressed?

I've never been inside a judge's chamber before/ dont want to be over dressed...that's why I was soliciting advice from people who have actually met with judges

TCR... He will likely not be in a full suit, but you better be. Jobs are about signals and being as this isn't an interview, but you want a job - send him a signal that you want a job and that you are prepared to present yourself in the best possible light and have the appropriate respect for the judge to wear a suit when invited to his chambers.

As a lawyer, would you ever go into a judge's chambers without a full suit?

Depends on how badly he wants the judge to rule in his favor. Chica-chica bow-wow
