CDCA (Crim) vs. SF Public Defender: Have to Choose by Weds!

1. Fairly sure I'd love jobs equally (talked to people who have worked at each)
2. No preference b/w LA and SF
3. Staying in SF = living for free with parents
4. I'm not financially hurting or anything, but not rich either (paying for law schools with full loans)
5. School: SLS
6. Goal: Top-notch biglaw
7. How dead-set on goal: very (i.e. though I wouldn't incur the cost if it would improve my chances at, say, a V10 by, say, 1%, I would do it if it would result in a somewhat more significant effect)
Question: Is the difference in prestige worth the cost? For people who have gone through the process, how much of a difference would something like this have?
