I've been talking with other people who applied to the SLIP program, and we were debating what the "best" way to get into the DOJ Honors program was (aka whether SLIP success was a factor or not). So I decided to create a poll to see what the distribution was. It doesn't matter if you are currently a DOJ attorney who started via the honors program a few years ago, or someone who has received an offer from the DOJ Honors program this year -- I'd like to hear from anyone who successfully entered into the Honors program.
Elaborate in a reply if you like, or just answer the poll.

A co-clerk (COA) of mine landed a spot with one of the more selective DOJ Honors components (with a second offer from Civil). He did SLIP in a different component as a 2L, had a good recommendation from that, and graduated top 1-2% from a T10.

So he did SLIP, district clerkship, COA clerkship, and then got into Honors?

no district court clerkship. Graduated --> straight into COA. Will go straight from COA to DOJ.
