Columbus Day

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Oct 09, 2010 10:16 am

Will law firms be closed on Columbus Day? In other words, should I assume I won't be hearing anything re: offer/ding on Monday (I actually assume this everyday, but I'd like to not be hoping all day)? I am a Canadian going to school in the US, and I am not sure how hardcore you are about this holiday. Thanks for your help and Happy Thanksgiving to any other Canadians out there.

Law firms are barely closed on Christmas day. Yes, they will be open.

OP here. Thanks for your help. I'm assuming same answer, but will firms also be open for American Thanksgiving (which I realize you probably just call Thanksgiving)?

Ah. Probably not on Thanksgiving actually, or at least the recruiting people will probably not be there. Thanksgiving is one of the BFD holidays (like Christmas). There will probably be a few attorneys there working, but not enough that I would expect to hear anything from them.

I disagree. I think many law firms will be closed and would be shocked if anyone heard anything Monday.
