Offers After Summer Associate Programs?

My law firm (that I am working for this coming summer) had about an 80 % offer rate last year wit 19 summer associates, but this year they only hired 9 for their summer program.
My question is, how much emphasis do firms put on getting good grades your second year versus the work product you put out during your summer with the firm?
I had another offer from a firm that promises employment after the summer associate program, but it wasn't near as established of a firm. In the end I went with the best firm, but I'm concerned about receiving an offer after my summer position. Thoughts?

Keys to receiving an offer:
(1) Do good work during the summer.
(2) Treat your colleagues/support staff well.
(3) Don't call attention to yourself.
(4) Don't get less than a B+ in any 2L class.

Less than a B+?? I can't promise that will happen.

Then I can't promise you'll receive an offer.

Just one case, but I received a job offer from a V50 after getting B in one of my 2L classes. Your work product during your summer job is the most important.

Half the class at t-14s get less than a B+ in classes.
I wouldn't get lower than a straight B.

OP Here: I got to a T25, but then again, my firm is not a V 25. It is one of the 100 largest in the country though. Most people from my school that work there graduated wit distinction or high distinction. This means, approx a 3.5. I am pretty well above that (by almost .2), so barring a major meltdown, I should be in good shape I hope. I have been inder the impression that inividual grades matter much less than the average of those numbers (the GPA) together.

GPA hardly matters after a certain threshold. Firms care about grade trends and individual grades more than you think. Don't get below a B+.

I got a C in a 2L class. Still have an offer. It was balanced by a B+ and two As.

How does somebody even go about getting a C in a law school class? Did you spit in the professor's face?

You would really think so, huh? It was very, very, very undeserved.
