Is there a website people are going to to get this information? I've looked at NALP and other sources for first year assoc. salaries but am not getting something consistent beyond that. Any help would be appreciated!

A firm out here by me that hires from lower ranked schools is not on this site. Is there any other way to find out this stuff? I would really like to know what new folks get paid right out of school. I assume if I call they will not tell me... Any ideas how to find out that kind of info?

Cool. Thanks. Question: when it says salary and then "$160" is that $160,000 a year? and then it says median bonus " $5 ". Is that 5000?

sorry, totally new to this. That is a lot of money too (if it really is 160k) Seems way too high for 1st year??? Is 2000 hours billable crazy too?

This is not my career path, but I am curious. That is a lot of money. wow

yeppers. its all about the benjamins, my friend. oh, and 5k bonus, in many places, is on the low end of the spectrum, traditionally (although ite, that may no longer be the case in certain places)

edit: oh, and 2000 billables is more like 2800-3000 hours in the office each year (12 hrs/day, billing around 8 hrs/day).

Good lord. That info can crush a man's altruism.

Dangerous site.... dangerous.

also: Can you tell me what 2000 billable hours really means? If you work a 10 hour day, how much of that is reasonably billable? I am trying to figure out what 2000 hours billable means to life/freedom. I assume you do not bill for every hour you are there... (I know, that is the trick... but what is the truth?)

Info is very out of date, but can still be a good reference point when making comparisons, IMO.

oh I totally agree...kinda wish there was a resource with updated info...but then again ite, compensation packages at firms seem to be changing weekly.
