What do you do with these firms?
I have a couple firms that have not gotten back to me after the screening interview, which was now 2 MONTHS AGO.
Has anyone emailed the recruiter and gotten a positive response?
Thanks in advance.

Def. get in touch with the firm.

One of my top firms did not call me because of an administrative error. Now I have a callback with them.

Did you email or call your screening interviewer or the recruiter?

Yes. I contacted them and got a callback. Worst case, you get rejected earlier than you otherwise would have. Do it!

How did you contact them and who did you contact?

One of my top firms called the wrong number.

Always good to follow up.

Do you think it's better to call rather than email? I mean it's so much easier for them to ignore an email.

has anyone tried contacting their INTERVIEWER instead of the recruiter?
if you had a particularly good rapport with him/her, i don't think that it would hurt to try but i am wondering if anyone has done this and succeeded or had it backfire.

Recruiting via email. I don't think it was the how and the who but the fact that I contacted them to express interest that got me the callback.

Doesn't always mean there's some kind of error...it could mean they just haven't got around to sending out the rejection letters. There's a firm from OCI I haven't heard from since OCI (it's been over a month), I've followed up via email once and didn't even get a response.

Definitely get back in touch with them. Don't know how effective it will be with Big Law but my fiance just got an offer in the mail from a nice boutique last Friday. She is considering accepting for the second half to give her a change of pace from Big Law. They hired her based off of OCI alone. She never had a callback.

I did this (send a status email to the recruiter) the other day and got a poorly worded ding email about 10min later. Oh well, didn't really care about that firm anyways since I already have an offer from a better firm. But nevertheless makes me wonder if my status email resulted in the rejection, or if the rejection was already pending.
