What kind of people get jobs out of 3L OCI? Is it a lot of students who got offers after a 2L SA gig? Exactly what are these firms looking for? How do 3L OCI firm look at the "prestige" level of the 2L SA? For example, would a V15 firm look at someone who did a 2L SA at a V80 firm?

Sorry if this isnt supposed to be anonymous. However, I made it that way because I have already accepted a SA offer and don't want that firm to think I am already thinking of going elsewhere because I really am just curious about the process in general.

Yes, a v15 firm will look at something who did a 2L SA at a v80 firm. I think the 3 real big factors are: 1) did you get an offer from your 2L firm (if no, then stop here), 2) how prestigious was the firm you worked at your 2L summer, 3) what are your grades (and other factors such as LR)? Not necessarily in that order.

I also wonder about 3L OCI for transfers. If a transfer student excels grade-wise at his/her new school and say, makes law review, will firms tend to look at them?

at the very least, as a transfer, you have a good reason for why you didnt show interest in the firm or why you did interview but didnt get a cb
