Waiting nearly 5 weeks now, no word. Who else has been waiting for quite some time? How long? And who has received an offer after a long wait? Thanks

My personal record wait: CB early August, offer received last week. So there's still hope!

This is a good question...
I've waited for 4 weeks now, but the firm did send a snail mail and said that they haven't made a final decision. I think that means "you're our sloppy second - will call if the all star doesn't accept." lol

C'mon, seriously? An anonymous bump of a thread 45 minutes after the last post?

Six weeks since one of my CBs and counting. I'm told that I am still "under serious consideration."

I think right now firms have a lot of offers outstanding. Within two weeks people should approach deadlines and start turning down offers, and then we will see a lot more movement again.

Firms also ding the worst candidates quickly (happened at one firm postmarked 3 days later), if you haven't heard anything you are at least somewhere down the list to where they ultimately would be happy to have you if others don't come through.

It's been over 8 weeks for me and still nothing...They called me last week to tell me that I am still a candidate, and as far as I know they haven't hired anyoen yet.

My friend just got an Orrick CB. Interviewed second week in August. Turned them down since he had accepted an offer awhile back. Personally, only firm I haven't heard from yet is Quinn. I think maybe I never will.

So you are posting anonymously because you don't want prospective employers who may be scouring the internet to know that you think waiting around at airports is boring? Please explain, I'd love to know why your posts require such secrecy.

Do you mean his call-back was in August and just got an offer, or his screening was in August and just got a CB?

(I'm assuming the former)

Long wait means -- FUCK, We're not sure where this economy is heading.

I've heard a lot of long wait stories. Some are getting offers finally, but I think it's too early to tell whether those offers are of any significance. Personally, I think a lot of summer offers are going to turn into no-offered/postponements.

Been waiting 3 weeks; no response. Anyone else that hasn't heard anything post-CB for this long this year?

The firm I ended up summering at took over 2 months to make a decision.

2 months, but was emailed after a month and then called after 6 weeks to keep me on the line.

Is it typical for a V20 firm to take over 2 weeks for an offer? Or should I be worried?

Did CB in mid-July and still nothing.

I emailed them a few weeks ago and they said that they had 1 interview left and they'd decide shortly thereafter

Fuck me right
