What does it mean when others are getting offers from firms you had a CB at, yet you haven't received a rejection from them?

I got an offer from a firm today that I interviewed with almost 4 weeks ago. I'd assumed ding because I'd heard from a friend who'd interviewed on the exact same day that he'd gotten an offer the following week. Moral of the story? You could be dinged, or you could be on hold. Sorry, there's no more clear cut answer than that.
But at least you can hold onto a bit of hope.

very dependent on the market... but I do know that in Texas, if you haven't been dinged yet you are still very much in play.

I know of some that have gotten dings that interviewed after my cb, and I still haven't heard yet...
Thoughts on the chances of getting an offer in the Chicago market when on hold?

I got a Chicago offer off hold.

My dings in TX came less than a week after the interviews, including mail time. So, in my experience, they ding quickly.

How do you know you were on hold, and how long was it b/w cb and offer?

I'm not the quoted person, but logic dictates that if you haven't been rejected, you still have a shot. I also know this from experience. Don't fret over things you can't control. If it's been an especialy long time, call and ask them where they are in the process. Other than that, all you can do is sit and wait.
