Seriously, does anyone know the origin of this meme? I see it all the time but I couldn't get any sense of its origin even after a fairly exhaustive google search.

I'm guessing it comes from the heady days of "NY to 190!" when going to DLA piper form a T14 school meant you were bottom of the heap. It is/was considered to be a less selective firm and pays below market when you include bonuses and salaries beyond the first year.
