To be honest, I don't know all the details. I worked in IP for a few years, but not in the patent department. The reason I suggested it, is that there should be numerous legal jobs available here. Good hours, solid pay, etc. If you were top 1/3 I'd imagine you'd have a shot...

My advice: pass the patent bar, spam every firm, even the ones with 3-4 people, on Kathy's "hot sheet" of IP practitioners in whatever area you're in.
Tried looking up the hot list, but I cant find it. Anyone have a copy?

I think that it might be too early to contact smaller firms. Every one I've contacted has said that they're not looking for anyone right now.
