tried this at Simpson-Palo Alto w/ recruiter, she said 6 days (!)
Haven't been doing this, is this credited?
The exceptions to this are obviously situations where partner/recruiter volunteers this info.

I think you're within your bounds to ask for a timeframe, but why would you ask the partner instead of the recruiter?

it is ok to shoot a partner/recruiter an email 1 week AFTER the callback with the OP question?
Getting kinda anxious about a certain firm that is my #1 choice.

I think recruiters are pretty much there to answer this kind of thing. I wouldn't email the partner, though.

Or, if you do, don't write "When will u decide?"

I think a follow-up a week later is definitely ok. Even to say "I am considering other opportunities" is fine.
