There can't actually be that much difference between BB and V&E salaries in Houston/Dallas, can there? I know BB dropped lock step, but I thought it wouldn't make a ton of difference in 90% of associates' salaries.

Does anyone have other info?

I had heard that market rates for the large firms in Texas were roughly equivalent to those of NYC, which is what makes Texas such an attractive market due to its significantly lower cost of living.

To sum up what this thread will become.

Texas - Pay is much higher once you adjust for COL.

NYC - But we get to live in NYC and they have to live in TEXAS!

/thread.
