Top Law Schools

I'm interested in litigation, particularly appellate and IP. I know that Gibson Dunn is top notch for appellate, but with all the superstars, I doubt I'd get to do much of it, especially as a summer/junior associate. Additionally, I would love to land a CoA clerkship, so working at a firm with useful contacts would be great.

If there's any firm more conservative than Kirkland DC, it's Gibson Dunn.

Gibson Dunn: Not ranked.
Litigation:
K&E: Band 2
GDC: Not ranked (surprising)
Media and Entertainment:
K&E: Band 3
GDC: Not ranked

Seems like K&E is superior in the practice areas you're interested in. They also definitely have useful contacts. Take take that for what it's worth.

OP- how soon after your cb at GDC did you get the offer?

OP here. Thanks for your thoughts! they're very helpful. And yeah, I've heard about the conservative bent... it's funny because I'm not conservative at all, but ended up narrowing my choices down to these two.

I had my callback on Friday and got the call yesterday (though they hinted at the fact that I would receive a call throughout the interviews and lunch). Is GDC one of your top choice? Good luck!

I would love to work there but haven't heard back. I'm assuming that's a ding even though I thought the interviews and lunch went really well.
