Any thoughts/experiences/rumors on BSF's corporate wing?

I honestly didn't even know they had a corporate group.

I've got an offer, I think I'm going somewhere else though.

Avoid unless it's your only non-V10/Deb/Paul Weiss/Kirkland offer. And even then, there are legit reasons for taking it above Paul Weiss or Kirkland. Not for the others, though.

I liked the people that I met, but the atmosphere is a little claustrophobic for me. Also, though I know I want to be at a biglaw firm for a while, I may want to leave NYC and I doubt their exit options are as good as a V10. Lastly, I think their size limits the kind of work they do. All in all, it's easier to swim downstream than upstream.
Edit: I'm leaning DPW

bumping this instead of starting a new thread. anyone with thoughts on boies' corporate practice, particularly in comparison to NYC V10s? obviously they are a lit firm through and through with a much, much smaller corporate department. but, they sold their practice hard at OCI with respect to associate responsibility and the growing variety and value of deals. any thoughts?

Two things to consider:
1. They do (did) a lot of work for Goldman's Special Situations and P/E groups. Now that their futures are a little uncertain, that stream of work has dried up, however temporarily.
2. The lit side is going to prevent them from taking on certain bank business, since they want to keep the option to sue the hell out of banks for "wrongs" committed before and during the crisis (see Quinn Emanuel's business model).
Bottom line, if you have this offer, then you probably have the stats to score a better V10 corp opportunity. I'd be wary.

DPW v. Boies Corporate is a no brainer...

I was referring to the Goldman P/E and Special Situations groups.

Oh, sorry. Thank you for clarifying.

Bump.
Any other info on this? Is it ridiculous to consider working there over other big NY shops?
My considerations: they pay above market (significantly), do a lot of smaller deals and thus more real work for juniors, they are growing, and they are generalists. But, not the brand name of STB, S&C, etc., obviously known as a lit firm, etc. Anyone else care to weigh in?

they are like the piper jaffray of law firms - in terms of deals they just pick up all the trash.

Look at it this way. If they really do grow over the next 3-5 years, then they'll be happy to take mid-level laterals from the V10. If they don't, would you have wanted to work there in the first place?
