Just curious how satisfied people are with how many callbacks they got. I realize people's feelings might change as they get more callbacks, so I have left the option to change your vote.

Reports from all around that DC was an unmitigated disaster. Bidding there resulted in substantially worse results than other markets no matter what your credentials.

T50, 5-10%, LR, 0 call backs.
Sweet.

Over the moon.
Top 20% non-LR at T10. Ten callbacks from OCI (almost all V100, and mostly V25) and three callbacks from non-OCI mailings. Only five rejections from OCI and I'm still waiting to hear from ten OCI firms.

On a completely unrelated note, OP's user name is freakin' genius. I absolutely <3 it.

Top 20% non-LR at T10. 2 CBs from OCI. Not looking good. The economy will probably be like this for the foreseeable future.

This was the exact same last year. People who did their research avoided DC if they could.

It's not that much better anywhere else. You need very strong ties to an area to even be *considered* for a CB if you have no work experience and are not on LR or top 10%.

Not so much the case with NYC.

Only 1 year WE. Charismatic, probably very good at interviewing.

Reading this: --LinkRemoved-- it doesn't seem like MVPB grads are having much luck with NYC. Columbia and NYU are cleaning up in NYC, comparatively speaking.

I've gotten a few callbacks from V20 NYC firms even after I told them I'd only been to NYC as a tourist and simply wanted to work in the biggest/best legal market in the country.
You don't need ties for NYC. You just need decent grades and a good law school.
I'm the top 20% at T10 person and I am cleaning up in NYC just as much as I am in CA (where I have ties).

No, I'm male. (FWIW I think being an attractive male helps, too. People like attractive people.) Though the only people with similar grades who have a similar # of callbacks at my school are attractive females.

Boalt's OCI just started this Monday, whereas Columbia and NYU (from what I've heard) started earlier. Also, a lot of CA people self-select to stay in CA. I know the people who wanted NY have gotten callbacks and even offers so far from NY.

Definitely surprised at how tough DC is. Most people I know on law review (including myself) at a T10 are getting about 20%-25% callbacks from DC screening interviews. IMO, unless you (a) graded onto law review, (b) are a strong interviewer, and (c) have ties to DC, any V25 DC firm should be considered a reach. The only reason why I'm in an OK situation is because I also selected several V50-V100 DC firms.
