Discussion for those debating to take a Cravath offer or go for a firm with a little cushier culture.

Has anyone accepted yet? Pro's/Con's?

I'm probably going to accept because despite what people say about their sweatshop reputation, how can you pass on an opportunity like this?

They will work your ass to death and you won't even get Skadden/SullCrom money. It's a good fit for the masochists among us.

I've been told that after a rotation you can lateral to almost any other firm and basically name your price. I've also been told that the Cravath reputation is incredible if you eventually want to go in-house or make the switch over to the business/financial side of things.

Any truth to either?

True of course, but are your exit options any better at Cravath than at DPW, SullCrom, or Simpson? I actually don't really know, and if anyone who has some insight into this wants to comment I would be interested in hearing opinions.

It's a stretch to say that; in my experience Cravath gives you no better exit opportunities than at comparable firms (Skadden, Latham, STB, Weil, S&C, Cleary, DPW, etc.). Only one there's a difference at is Wachtell.

this is no disrespect to OP (more power to him/her if its true), but is this offer serious? top 4% BLS/columbia transfer?

Does anyone know if this year Cravath has given any on the spot offers at the end of the day?

Another Cravath offer here. Interviewed on "Super Friday;" was given an offer Monday morning.

Same here - and like the OP, I'm also a T2 transfer.

so how do exit opportunities stack up against DPW? if one is interested in moving in-house, is cravath a no-brainer? it would seem that the rotation system will give you a really solid general corporate background, and the structure of the firm seems to give you additional responsibility early on. is this true? on the other hand, it seems like extra work/pressure for the same money. any summers or associates want to comment on the hours?

Hi, all.

I'm interviewing at Cravath next Saturday. The firm sent me an e-mail to confirm recently and they noted that attire is business casual. I know Cravath is a very traditional firm, requiring associates to go in business formal dress to work.

As such, should I forgo the recruiting department's guidance and wear a suit . . . or should I do as they suggest and dress in business casual attire?
