Clerking question

I understand the significance of clerking for a federal court, but how prestigious are state courts of appeals and state supreme courts typically? Would they still be worth taking a year or two off between graduation and a biglaw job? Do they carry significant weight near as much as a federal court on a legal resume?

A lot of firms state on their website that they give bonuses to those who spend a year clerking for a federal judge or a state's highest court. Since you wouldn't be applying until after you've secured a BigLaw SA, its probably best to just ask the firm what their policy is.
