Reading ATL today about how firms are giving 100% offers to the summer associate class. Kinda curious how many of us rising 3Ls who were not as fortunate to receive summer associate position will be joining the ranks of the "Lost Generation"

Those articles amuse me. "zomg, 100% offers!" But they neglect to mention that the classes are a fraction of the size they were two years ago, and still smaller than last year's.
this. if a large firm can't afford to give 100% offers to a class of 10 or 15, things are in bad shape.

For example:

Latham DC 2009: 32
Latham DC 2010: 17

Ropes NY 2009: 66
Ropes NY 2010: 22

Probably 99% of 3Ls who didn't receive a 2L SA will never make biglaw.
I wish I could short this view.
