weird firm choices for IP law, given that 20% data is not available to anyone at NU but a handful of people in the Registrar's office, I'm assuming you're guesstimating this entirely, what is your GPA (ballpark)?

I would NOT tell an employer I'm 20% - but I'm assuming you're planning on doing this, could easily be wrong.

Isn't the cut-off for top 20% at NU like a 4.0?

as an NU student, I gotta defend this: that's the MAX CURVE, and that's not A's, that's A-, A, A+, so that's the A range.

A lot of professors DON'T apply the max-curve - I know this first hand.

Looking at GP firms with big classes + IP lit departments.

GPA is ~3.75. Yes I'm guesstimating so people could give bidding advice. Why on earth would I tell an employer my guesstimated class rank? They have their GPA charts.

Half of these firms are non-players in IP. For them, I wouldn't even discuss wanting to work in the IP group. Also, with respect to Weil, their IP presence is in SV. Weil NY IP sucks. The IP players in NY are Kirkland, and then Ropes in a not-so-distant second (after the departure of Desmarais from Kirkland).

Thanks for the advice, all. I know a number of the firms don't have huge IP practices. Between my PLIP interviews, I've got all of Band 1/2/3 in the Chambers list covered, except: Cravath (no chance), Patterson Belknap (not at OCI), Kenyon (not at OCI).

Anything that isn't on the Chambers IP guide that I should consider?
