If we didn't win a bid at a firm (100% student select, not pre-screened) in a city that we are currently living in does it make sense to contact the firm now to try and set up an interview, or wait to see if a waitlist spot opens up?

I would suggest contacting the firm now and setting up an interview while you are in town.
