I have heard that someone in the career development office at Gtown stated that 50% of the 2010 grads don't have jobs. This can, however, be somewhat due to a sense of entitlement.eiluj39 wrote:So there has been some rumor about job placement being very lowat Georgetwon... is this true? i heard something like 60% of 2Ls this year got a job at OCI.eiluj39 wrote:anyone hear about Northwestern this year?
If OP is asking about 2010 jobs at graduation, then Northwestern 2L OCI doesn't provide a point of comparison. My intuition suggests that the class size differences and other factors lead to a disparity in employment prospects greater than 10%.Anonymous User wrote:i heard something like 60% of 2Ls this year got a job at OCI.eiluj39 wrote:anyone hear about Northwestern this year?
as an NU 1L, though, i could be off on that.

Check your OCI bid list to confirm # of offices, unless you are a 0L. Heard this from other NU rising 2Ls.Anonymous User wrote:To the last two posters: it might be useful to say where (generally speaking) you heard this.
Fewer than 200 offices? There are over 550 offices at UVA's OGI. You must mean firms.Anonymous User wrote: There are significantly fewer than 200 offices going to NU's OCI, but NU has a much smaller class size than Georgetown.
As an NU student, the 60% number reported at Town Hall sounds right. I have quite a few other friends who were targeting PI that landed jobs later in the fall.Anonymous User wrote:According to the town hall meeting, it was "about 60%" as of October.
I think that NU likely fared a little bit better than GULC this year. OP, if you are deciding b/w GULC and NU, I think that this decision largely turns on where you ideally want to practice and what type of law school environment attracts you.chadwick218 wrote:As an NU student, the 60% number reported at Town Hall sounds right. Thus far, there appear to be 160 firms coming to campus in the fall.
