being gay =/= diveristy?
Silly question, but, from time to time I see postings on my school's job board for fellowships/SA gigs that are dependent on 'diversity'. They never indicate what 'diversity' means. As a gay white male I am often tempted to apply to these, but am fearful that I would not be what they are 'looking for'. Could anyone shed some light on this for me. And no, this is not a flame.

Yes, I can answer this question becuase I'm the one who posts every add in the courty looking for diversity. Yes, you count. Umm who the hell knows what they are looking for, and why the hell arn't you applying anyway? Just apply damit, you don't get a job by thinking I would like to apply but I dunno if I should. Also join the gay bar asscoiation in your city, they will know whose looking for your type of diversity and whose not. Diversity is in the eye of the employer, if they like your diversity and resume, great, if not, well at least you applied for something.ohnowtf wrote:Silly question, but, from time to time I see postings on my school's job board for fellowships/SA gigs that are dependent on 'diversity'.
