Two miscellaneous questions

This is not necessarily regarding legal employment, and locations would be large urban areas on either Coasts. I would like to know what the people of TLS think of these questions:
1) Is it unadvisable for a woman to have really short hair? Probably around this length :
2) What about having an accent? If the choice is between either a pretty thick accent (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw6RgIf6epQ see from 0:55) or an awkwardly simulated American accent that makes me sound less 'fluent,' what should I do?
Mods, I know what you're thinking, but I'm not flaming; the couple of mods who heard me speak will know.
XOXO TYIA

I think it depends on your facial structure. I am a woman with short hair, and I think it's pretty much awesome because hair is annoying and time consuming. Long hair takes longer to wash, longer to brush, and some people think you're sloppy if you don't style it or something. On the other hand, short hair needs to be cut fairly frequently.
Facial structure wise, if you care about appearances, short hair can look sort of funny on women if they have a round face or a large forehead.
EDIT: Oh, also, I've heard tell that most of my fellow students assume I'm bisexual, and short hair might have something to do with it. So, there's that.

OP here, thanks for your response.
I had hair around that length before and it worked for me (I think). I was more worried about the possible prejudices, such as perhaps people thinking that it is an unprofessional look, etc.
Sounds like there are no such concerns?

No, definitely doesn't look unprofessional.

Hehehehe, thanks!. As KMaine probably knows, the assumption of bisexuality might also have to do with my dressing somewhat androgynously (jeans, t-shirt and a hoodie most days), and may have very little to do with the short hair.

Just having a little fun. Actually, I think that shorter hair can look very professional on a woman, and does not really make me consider their sexuality one way or the other. Then again, I have been out of that game for a while now.
