Feds unlikely. Probably shitlaw or public defender/state prosecutor type thing.

EXPLAIN how you got a C+.

this is not a great place to be. How does the school place in its home market? Do you have connections? How is the school doing presently in placement?

You only got one bad grade? Can't you bring your GPA up in the subsequent semesters? Does anyone have experience with having a blemish on their transcript?

Come on guys, is it really that bad? 55% of his class and it's hopeless? what if he had been 49%?

For employment: It's not a problem at all. Hustle, find job, be lawyer.

For well paying and highly desirable legal employment: Below median at a 'lower tier 1' is missing by a mile, not an inch.
so i suppose a good question would be, "projected debt?"

He'd have the same shitty job prospects. Lower tier 1 you need to be at least top 10%.

But there's a difference between being worried about job prospects and being told that you're not going to find a job and should drop out. Surely someone in the top 20% will get a good job (probably not biglaw, but still...).

I just find it hard to believe that someone who is basically median at a top 50 school won't be able to get a legal job

then i guess my question is (and sorry if I hijack the thread) what do you have to be at a strong regional (UNC for instance haha) to have descent job prospects?

Honestly, if i knew how bad the legal environment is out there, I prob would have reconsidered law school. I am thankful that I did well 15%tile at my t1/t2 school. In previous years like 07, I would be golden, however the biglaw landscape has changed dramatically......

Sorry for the vagueness. Yeah, not biglaw (I have no desire for that). 65-80k job in the Southeast I guess was more of what I meant. Thanks.

I guess maybe I am deluding myself by thinking that I don't have to be top 15% to get that?

One of TLS's Admins is an unemployed T14, top 1/3 graduate.

People aren't fucking around when they say it is bad out there.

The biglaw firm I am interning (Unpaid) at over the summer is planning on taking only a handful of 2l SA next year. Guess what, they are looking at TOP schools with TOP grades + candidates with local connections. This firm isnt even top 100.
