Schools give you a limited number of bids. At UVA you have 50 (for hundreds of interviewers) - other schools are more or less. You have to actually pick fair carefully.
So the way it works at UVA is: I pick 50 firms, I get X interviews, Y callbacks, and Z offers. Hopefully Z >= 1
