It probably depends on the seriousness of the change. If you're changing the part of your application where you checked 'No' to "Have you ever been committed of a crime, etc.", then it's on you to let the school know. However, if it's something less serious, like you switched minors, I doubt you would be penalized either by the school or the Bar if you didn't notify schools.

Just make an addendum and you will be fine....you don't want anything bad to come up during C&F

I would think that it depends on the "change" itself, but unless the change was a vital component to your law school acceptance (i.e. your GPA), it should not affect you long-term.

'Let go' as in fired, or laid off? I would disclose that either way because you have to list your employment history for the Bar.

If there was something wrong with your applications, like you checked "no" and then realized there was something out there for which you should have checked "yes", do you need to update all of the schools to which you've applied or just the one you are attending?

Does C&F take into account all your applications?

1 - if you get let go and you are applying to Northwestern, it is very clear that they are considering your work history, so you should disclose the change in your employment status. It can be downplayed a little bit, but I definitely think that not disclosing is a big deal.

2 - as for the yes/no quesion, the answer is "Yes" you need to tell any school which you applied to that has not yet rejected you that you made a mistake; however, I believe C&F only focuses on the application to the school from which you are graduating.

Also, I agree that "not disclosing" is a big deal. What about not volunteering the information, but answering truthfully if asked directly? These seem very different.

Unfortunately, I don't think Bar examiners would take this distinction into account. Your best bet is to be forthcoming with the info.

Generally speaking, I think the applications require you to inform the schools of any change in any information submitted along with your application, and your employment history falls into this category.

OP, I obviously don't know your entire situation, but based on what you've posted here so far, it seems like you are trying to hide losing your job for a reason that will reflect badly on you from NU. Layoffs suck, but if you're concerned about disclosing a layoff, I don't think it would make a huge impact on what schools think of you ITE. OTOH, if you were dismissed from your job for doing something wrong or unethical, you may want to consider if it's something that might prevent you from passing the bar after you invest three years and a lot of money in a legal education.
