part-time RA - how useful is it going to be?
I already have a good summer job that I like. however, i think being a part-time RA won't hurt.
however, the prof is definitely young, although very impressive. she went to the best law schools and worked in V10.... had 7 major publications before she even started teaching.

but this may not even be a paid gig....
will it be embarrassing?
I don't think my first year grades were good enough for me to ever get a decent clerkship. yet, my second year grades have improved dramatically. And the professor was, like, wow ...

What do you mean embarrassing?
I have the mentality to pick up as much work experience as possible. Whether it be legal, academic etc. I never really turn anything down so long as I can muster the time.
Does being unpaid really matter that much to you? $10/hr isn't exactly that big of a deal.
In the longrun it probably won't ever help you out but you never know when you are unemployed and your prof calls up a friend, firm etc. or an employer sees that you worked with his/her favorite prof.

I'm doing part time RA this summer also, on top of an SA. Just make sure that the professor knows about your other job and her expectations are in the right place with regard to your availability. If she's cool with it, then go for it.
