PSA jobless 1Ls: there are still open federal internships
I just got a email from a federal district judge about 5 minutes ago, asking to interview. I wasn't going to post anything, but this is like the 5th one I've gotten in past 2 weeks so obviously there are still some positions open. All of mine were from CA. Today's was from SD, a week ago I had two from Riverside, one from Pasadena, and one from San Jose. Maybe try giving a couple chambers a phone call to see if they have filled all their positions? Hope this helps somebody.

Yea, in the same PSA vein, I feel I should post here. 2-3 weeks ago I was going into panic mode, as I had only gotten 1 interview out of the 15 or so apps I sent out in early jan., but I got my shit together and made 50 cold calls and sent out dozens of emails to basically anyone I could find in the fields I was interested in (working in DC, federal gov, think tanks, etc). I scoured websites, directories, etc. Worked out really well. I have a great paying job now, and got maybe 5-7 interview offers, and some new ones keep filtering in everyday. It's def not too late to find a good job as long as you are dedicated and put in a lot of effort/do whatever it takes/look in unconventional channels (dont just go through official programs - email the general counsels's office directly, etc).
