Managing Partner's Business Background

If one hopes to become managing partner of a branch, is there any advice as to getting an MBA in addition to the law degree? What if one has an undergraduate business background? I've looked at managing partner's bios for a few firms at it seems to be split as to whether you need the MBA or not? Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge from conversations with firms as to whether the MBA would be a requirement or a plus for someone hoping to focus more on the business side of a law firm eventually?

Managing partners are politically connected and/or rainmakers.
Also, lol.
You're skipping (1) doing awesome in school, (2) getting biglaw, (3) making partner, and (4) not getting pushed out as a partner.

Do not get an MBA for this reason. If you get a biglaw gig, take it and forget the MBA. I might make an except if you are not paying for school.
You don't need an MBA. You need to make your firm money...and possibly be a demi-god.
