Yeah, I was just kidding. Opera would never trade Fordham for GULC.OperaSoprano wrote:Now you're just being silly. Fordham has been good to me, as you well know.A'nold wrote: It's because she wants to apply to GULC EA......

See TransferApps yahoo groupJPU wrote:The whole reason to transfer is for better job opportunities. It seems like securing a good job requires summering at a firm during your 2L year, the hiring for which is done before you have any 2L grades. As a transfer you will have old school grades only when interviewing at OCI. I have seen this discussed in a few other threads but since there seems to be a lot of people looking to transfer now, having the info on OCI results in one place would be beneficial. So if there are any 2L, 3L, or post-grad transfers out there please post how 2L OCI went so us hopefuls can get a picture of what awaits us if we decide to take the leap and transfer.
Mods - would it be possible to get a anonymous feature going so people wouldn't have to out themselves revealing how they did?

Speaking of transferapps, can we put our own info in yet? I didn't see a transfer 2010 page on there when I looked the other day.

I know; it would be tough, but you're in an interesting situation. For many near the top of their class, they have the choice of continuing with their scholarship (or much lower instate tuition, w/e) at a lower ranked school, or upgrading. They could risk increased debt, and the possible loss of top flight grades, for increased prestige and job prospects.OperaSoprano wrote:Now you're just being silly. Fordham has been good to you, and I certainly understand and can relate to your loyalty to them after what you went through. Unfortunately though, unlike those I mentioned above, you were barely able to get into PT off of the WL, and have no scholarship that you would give up in a move. And even with your stellar grades, Fordham's financial situation probably makes a scholarship from them unlikely in the future. Although debt hasn't seemed to be one of your bigger concerns, leaving Fordham at sticker for CLS/NYU is a lot different than leaving Fordham with $$ for those schools. Although Fordham does hold its own in NYC, it is clearly behind CLS/NYU and the T14 schools, and the ability for an upgrade like that with no increased financial burden (actually likely a lessened financial burden, considering better prospects for a top paying job or a better LRAP program, with the same debt) seems like a rare chance indeed.
It will be interesting to see what you think as the semester progresses, and what you end up deciding to do...
