IP law question

Hi,
I currently hold a BS in mechanical engineering and am considering getting a MS in electrical engineering. I want to keep the option of going to law school to go into the IP field. I'm on the fence about the MSEE because the only concentration it has is in power engineering (3 phase systems, protection, ect) and didn't know if this would help me on a resume to future job employers or if it would be a waste of time.

Thanks,
Jake
