Does anyone know where I can find a list (or if you can name a few) of progressive law firms like Gonzalez & Leigh?

I hear WilmerHale is very progressive. Also, some Perkins Coie folks represent President Obama.

Do you mean progressive as in firms that only take progressive-cause cases, or do you mean big firms that happen to lean left?

Well, firms that take progressive cases is what I most interested to find out. But, knowing which big firms lean left is also something I have been interested in.

I believe, generally speaking, you'll find conservative and progressive cases in every big firm. Mine certainly juggles both. There are sort of camps of associates and partners who work together often in similar politically charged cases.

There are a lot of plaintiff's side firms that take on progressive causes (most often class-actions), but they tend to be very small practices because there isn't any money in defending the little guy.

From all I've read, Perkins Coie definitely gets progressive props. They seem to try and keep the a PNW vibe. FWIW, they make the "100 Best Companies to Work For" list every year.

Perkins Coie has done work for lots of different politicians and political groups, though. Bob Bauer worked for them prior to joining the Obama administration as White House Counsel.

As for a progressive culture, I've heard Cleary Gotlieb referred to as Queery Gotlieb.
