Awww Danteshek, how could you? I am intrigued by the LA County Office of Ind't Review and submitted a high bid for them, but it is a rather small organization. In writing the cover letter to them, I did mention I grew up being served by the LASD, think that will help my case?

Resume collection, unfortunately, most of these depts are only hiring clerks and have a hiring freeze/waiting list right now due to California's financial state. As for federal gov't jobs, many are still dealing with Congressional funding woes, these were always long shots, no hurt in trying but this won't be like old school private OCI.

Unless there were some constitutional issues to talk about, I doubt your run in with the LASD will matter much. I mentioned my 'A' grade in Criminal Law and enrollment in Constitutional Criminal Procedure.

I got three out of nine bids (but none of my top three choices):

U.S. Department of Justice (Washington DC)
U.S. Department of Labor (Los Angeles)
Children's Law Center (Monterrey Park)

Did you apply to 15?

What is going on with that? I know a girl who got 7 out of 15 interviews a couple years ago, why is the return rate so low?
And how does a SW guy get more than a USD guy (no offense at all)?

I only applied to nine. Maybe I have a more interesting resume and better grades than you?

You probably have me on the resum, mine was/is as vanilla as can be.

But I wasn't aware that the interviewers received our grades? I never sent mine out, and I'm pretty sure my school wouldn't w/o telling me.

Pretty easy to put your GPA on your resume if it is high enough...

Edit: just got selected for US Army JAG interview on campus Feb 8
